How to find New York Yankees Spring Training games on TV

The crack of the bat. The pop of the glove. Ben Rortvedt having to miss time with an injury. That means it's Yankees Spring Training once again!

Now that everyone's reported and Nestor Cortes is officially out of the World Baseball Classic, that means it's time for the team to transition into game action, which starts officially on Sat., Feb. 25 on the road in a split squad battle with the Phillies.

That particular revolution will not be televised, but the fun starts the very next day ... exclusively on the YES App, thanks to a conflict with the Brooklyn Nets.

Feb. 26's battle with the Atlanta Braves (while the other half of the Yankees' squad is on the road at Blue Jays camp) will be the first preseason game you can stream. But fret not! The YES crew (which is, uh, still incomplete following Cameron Maybin's departure and Carlos Beltran bolting) will be carrying 13 contests this spring, 12 of which will be on the YES Network proper.

Keep in mind, too, that games not covered by the YES Network might be available on MLBTV thanks to the road team's broadcast -- like Saturday's spring opener against the Phillies, which is carried locally by NBC Sports Philadelphia.

YES Network's televised games include battles with the Red Sox, Cardinals, Rays and Jays. Televised games are noted below on our Spring Training schedule calendar; the first to air on YES Network and not the app exclusively will be Mon., Feb. 27 against Detroit in primetime (6:30 PM).

Though live competition couldn't feel any further away right now as the boys stretch, toss and run agility drills in the outfield, several positions will be up for grabs when the games begin. Oswald Peraza has to show he's earned the starting shortstop gig. Rafael Ortega, Oswaldo Cabrera and, yes, Aaron Judge are all coming for Aaron Hicks' left field spot. The fifth starter? It's probably Domingo Germán's to lose, but Clarke Schmidt is a dark horse candidate for the fourth straight year.

The action begins on Saturday, but you can watch it beginning the very next afternoon.
