Baseball literally runs in my blood. Well maybe not literally – if it did my blood cells would all be white and bound with 108 red stitches – but my family bloodlines of devout New York sports fans stretch back more than 90 years. Like the birth years of my grandfather (’27), uncles (’50, ’52 and ’56), father (’61) and brother (’98) — the Yankees won the World Series the year I was born (’96). And you can’t fight genetics.I am a graduate of both the University of Virginia and James Madison University, and previously wrote for Bloomberg News.
