Yankees manager Aaron Boone’s nephew has signed with the Nationals.

Don’t worry, Yankees fans. We have some feel-good news that will hopefully distract you from Giancarlo Stanton being sent to the injured list with a hamstring strain … and Clint Frazier not receiving the subsequent call-up from Scranton.

As New York attempts to salvage a series split in Tampa Bay, we stumbled across an update regarding the professional career of manager Aaron Boone’s nephew.

Per an Instagram post, Jacob Boone has officially signed with the Washington Nationals.

The newest National would undoubtedly look better in pinstripes, but you still absolutely love to see the Yankees skipper’s family enjoying success.

According to ncaa.com, Boone was selected by Washington in the 38th round of the 2017 MLB Draft out of Torrey Pines High School. After much deliberation, however, he decided that attending Princeton — where he made the all-academic team three times — gave him the best opportunity to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional big-leaguer.

If that day ever comes, Boone would become the first fourth generational player in MLB history, following his great grandfather Ray, grandfather Bob, and father Bret, who you likely remember from the Mariners, as well as his place in the booth for his brother Aaron’s walk-off dinger against the Red Sox in the 2003 ALCS.

Prior to the latest generation of brothers, the Boone family consisted entirely of catchers. Very interesting lineage of squatting, to say the least.

You better believe that we’ll be keeping tabs on Boone’s progress in the Nationals organization. Stay tuned for updates on whether the Ivy league product hits the ground running and receives any significant promotion.

What a day for the Boone family, though! Let’s hope the Yankees keep up this good vibe and overcome Tampa’s rally.
