The Yankees and two-time All-Star, Zach Britton, have agreed on a three-year deal after being traded during the 2018 midseason from the Orioles to the Bombers.

Two-time All-Star left-hander reliever, Zach Britton’s wish has been granted. In September 2018, it was reported that Britton would love to return to the Yankees, but only for the right price.

On Saturday, Britton and the Yanks agreed to a three-year, $39 million deal with a fourth-year team option for $14M.

Britton was excellent for the Bombers since coming over from the Orioles during the ’18 midseason fire sale as they are in the midst of a rebuild. In return, the O’s received pitching prospects Dillon Tate, Cody Carroll and Josh Rogers from the Yanks.

In 25 games last season, Britton posted a 3.10 ERA with 21 strikeouts. At home, he held down the opposition to a .233 AVG. Away from Yankee Stadium, Britton was fantastic, keeping to opposition to a minuscule.155 AVG.

Previously, Britton was the AL saves leader in 2016, was voted the AL Reliever of the Year in the same season and was also a two-time All-Star in both 2015 and ’16. Having him back with the Yanks is vital, and it only makes the bullpen that much more imposing when closing games with the relief corp of Britton, Dellin Betances, Chad Green and Aroldis Chapman.

A bit of exciting news comes from Andy Martino of SNY as he reports that the Yanks are more engaged on right-handed relief pitcher Adam Ottavino as compared to infielder Manny Machado.

Next. Yankees are committed to trying Troy Tulowitzki at shortstop. dark

Ottavino is coming off his best professional season in 2018, posting a 2.43 ERA in 75 games, striking out 112 batters and sustaining a 0.99 WHIP.
