Yankees tell contenders: “Want Some, Come Get Some!”
Yankees are in the stretch run of their season. The Bronx Bombers are facing 8 out of next ten series with teams 4.5 games or less from the last the Wild Card spot or leading the AL East. Wild Card leading Yankees are the team to beat if you want a place in the playoffs. If you “Want Some, Come Get Some,” Wild Card Contenders!
Yankees were just reminded by the Indians, that it’s not a free ride to the playoffs. The Indians took to the brooms and executed a sweep of the Yankees, in Yankee stadium. As the “Nature Boy (video) stated: “To be the man, you gotta beat the man!” Young Bronx Bombers just learned a valuable lesson. The Wild Card contenders and Divisional leaders are on a mission to prove they are“The Man!”
The Yankees showed some life in bouncing back against their arch rival Red Sox, taking the game and the series from the Sox last night. while knocking Chris Sale out of the game with three home runs, the first time he has surrendered that many in a single game since July 8, 2016. We need to win any and all series, not tie them.
Road trip:
New York Yankees take on the Orioles, who have won the last 8 out of 10 games. The first of a three game set at Camden Yards begins today. Those black and orange birds have flown high, recently. It is the Young Bronx Bombers time to “Come Get Some!” This is a must win series as within two-weeks we face this team again in a four game series. Just like the song “Making Hay While the Sun Still Shines!”
Yankees, head off to Texas, next to face the Rangers. Since, those Rangers are still only 4fourgames out, and have a five hundred record their last ten games. In this homer friendly stadium anything can and usually does happen. Our old friend the long ball better be by our side. Time to take some from the Texas Rangers!
Young Yankees roll into Tampa for the first of a two, three game sets. Those Rays are sporting a 6 and 4 record the past 10 games and are only 4 games out of the last playoff spot. First series, in Tropicana Field, where the stadium sometimes is the home teams 10th man. These Bronx Bombers of ours, need to make sure, they are the takers and not the givers to this divisional rival.
Stadium Bound:
Baltimore, comes to the stadium to finish up our regular season match up. The Orioles, will be playing the part of the spoiler or top contender as the Yankees square off against them. No time like the present to finish off the Orioles playoff hopes!
Yankees and Twins square off in potentially a first round playoff game. Both are now, holding on to a Wild Card spot. This series will go a long way to decide who has a spot in the Wild Card and home field advantage for that playoff game. Bronx Bombers are in a position to put some distance between us and Minnesota. We need to put the Twins in their place!
Last road trip:
Yankees start the last road trip of the season as they head off to Toronto. Always a tough series. This is the beginning of the last 6 games of the year against the Blue Jays. Toronto has the poorest record of any team we face heading down the stretch and have only won 3 out of the last 10 games. We have them for 6 games, as we finish up the season with a three game set in New York. Time is now, for a sweep of the Blue Jays!
We’re Back Home:
Kansas City and the Bronx Bombers finally play that make up rain out. Good news is it is at home and we need to take care of business. KC is sitting 4.5 games out and are the most experienced team heading towards the playoffs. This is a very streaky team and dangerous team. Time to take it to a recent champion!
New York Yankees will host the Tampa Bay Rays and closes out the regular season against the Toronto Blue Jays. We can take control of our destiny. Being in control will allow us to rest our players for the playoff run. Set out pitching rotation as we head off to the playoffs. By now we surely will have taken what we want!

From all indications the playoff picture just got altered. The Angels now are the team to watch out for as the season winds down. They made two huge offensive additions, Brandon Phillips and Justin Upton. The Wild Card is still up for grabs, with 8 teams 4.5 games out. That Wild Card games needs to be on the Yankees home turf.
Waiting for the winner of the Wild Card is the upgraded league leading Houston. Adding bullpen help in Tyler Clippard. Offensive and defensive help in Cameron Maybin. Finally, addressing their biggest need, another stud in the rotation. They just acquired Justin Verlander.
New York Yankees better be in playoff mode, for the rest of the season. The top potential Wild Card contender and second round opponents just got better. We got better ourselves with several coming off the DL and the roster expansion. Time for this team to “Take Some!”
