Yankees closer Dellin Betances‘ 2016 was filled with up and down performances. But on Friday he experienced his most important moment of the year, marrying his longtime partner Janisa.

When one marries the love of their life, you’d expect friends, both near and far to attend the festivities. Well, that’s exactly what happened at the ceremony of Yankees reliever Dellin Betances and his wife Janisa (the two were reportedly married in private in 2014).

Luckily, Betances’ Yankees teammates, CC Sabathia and Michael Pineda documented some of the action on Friday through their respective Instagram accounts.

In attendance from left to right was Chasen Shreve (who I’m pretty sure is still a Yankee as a way of enticing ex-college teammate Bryce Harper to eventually join him in New York), Pineda, Robinson Cano, Didi Gregorius (joined by his picnic blanket of a jacket), Sabathia, Carlos Beltran, Shane Greene, Luis Severino and Betances’ barber (true story).

If you remember, Betances wasn’t an integral part of the Yankees when Cano was still a member of the club — as he had short stints with the big league team in both 2011 and 2013.

As for Greene (the gentleman pictured with ‘the hair’), his time too with Betances was limited to a sole season in 2014, before being dealt to Detroit.

Throughout the evening, Yankees No. 2 starter, Pineda, took to social media to show he and his buddies in action.

Is Beltran wearing a black velvet jacket? Regardless, the 40-year-old free agent still looks to be in great shape as rumors swirl about the Yankees’ interest in a reunion with the DH-to-be.

Betances made news earlier in the week when he ultimately decided that he would represent the Dominican Republic in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. For those confused about this designation, considering the fact he was born in Washington Heights, NY — Betances explained, “Both teams [U.S.A. and D.R.] want me to play [for them], but I made a commitment to the DR,” Betances told The New York Post. “That is where my family is from, and I want to make them proud.”

While some fans have expressed their displeasure, that a person born in the US could still play for another country because of family ties, it had to be a difficult decision for the 28-year-old AL All-Star to make.

Betances was named to the 50-player preliminary U.S. roster, but those selected for the roster aren’t obligated to any specific role. Be sure to mark March 11, 2017, on your calendar — as we may just witness Betances and team D.R. square off against the U.S. at 6:30 p.m. from Miami.
