On last night’s episode, we discuss the latest trade rumors involving Brett Gardner and give a special Thanksgiving Top 5 Involving the Yankees.

On last night’s episode of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show, we discussed the latest hot stove rumors involving the New York Yankees. One of the rumors that has come up most recently is that New York is open to trading starting pitcher Ivan Nova, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post. I gave my take on why New York needs to move on from Nova and why a change of scenery might be the best thing for the 28-year-old right-hander.

Our first guest on the episode was Jacob Misener, the editor of Cubbies Crib. Last week, there was the trade rumor that the Yankees and Cubs had discussed a Brett Gardner for Starlin Castro deal. Jacob and I both agreed that it did not make sense for either team because the Yankees need starting pitching and the Cubs would be better off keeping Dexter Fowler than acquiring Gardner.

In addition to the Gardner rumors, Jacob and I discussed the maturation of Castro as a second baseman, Chicago’s need for starting pitching and why he thinks it’s not a slam dunk that David Price ends up with the Cubs, the need to acquire bullpen help (this was before the trade for Rockies’ left-hander Rex Brothers), and what Cubs’ fans should be most thankful for on Thanksgiving.

My second and final guest on last night’s episode was the editor here at Yanks Go Yard, Michael Cambria. Mike and I led off the segment by talking about Robinson Cano and how he’s reportedly not happy in Seattle (according to John Harper of the New York Daily News). We both agreed that while Cano would help the Bronx Bombers at second base, the Yanks won’t deal for Cano unless Seattle eats most/all of the money. Plus, we gave our thoughts on Nova and the Gardner/Andrew Miller rumors and I chime in on why New York should keep Adam Warren in the bullpen.

Finally, with tomorrow being Thanksgiving, we wanted to do something a little different for this week’s episode. I put together my top five reasons Yankee fans should be thankful for on Thanksgiving, including a commitment to winning, see young prospects (Luis Severino and Greg Bird) emerge in 2015, a great history that the organization has, and the stability in the front office. As always, we at Yanks Go Yard are thankful that all of you continue to read our work and listen to the radio show each and every week.
