Ref has been crushing the ball of late in AAA. Over his last 10 games, he’s hitting .412 with two homers, four RBI and 10 walks. His defense has been getting better too, so the future appears to be right now at second base for the Yankees.
The Yankees need to start using their young players more and Refsnyder represents the first part of that wave of talent from the system that’s coming up.
So who goes? Is it Stephen Drew? Is it Cole Figueroa? Is Chase Headley going on the DL? We will have to wait. All we know is that the Yankees will finally get an upgrade at second and a chance to see him over the last couple of games before the All-Star break.
