The Yankees have stuck with pitching thus far, as three of their four selections have been pitchers. The name Finley is common throughout Major League Baseball due to Drew’s father, David, has played two seasons in the minor-leagues with the Dodgers; in addition to his playing time, David Finley is the Vice President of the Dodgers’ amateur and international scouting department.

According to Perfectgame.org, Drew Finley upholds a body frame of 6-foot-3 and 220 lbs. His fastball places around the 89-91 mph and could touch up to 93 mph; the matter is, his fastball could look to increase as he develops. In addition to his fastball, Finley commands his 12-6 curve with ease, as well as an additional changeup.

Finley jumped onto a multitude of radars as he struck out 20 out of 21 batters in April. Throwing strikes is no concern for the 18-year-old; hiding his pitch due to his delivery plays in his favor.

Fun fact, three of the four Yankees draft pick selections have come from Southern California.

Finley was also their first high school selection in the 2015 draft.
