Yankees Claim Eury Perez Off Waivers From Nationals
By Matt Mirro
The Yankees announced today via Twitter that the team has claimed outfielder Eury Perez off waivers from the Washington Nationals. A corresponding move will be announced later according to the team.
Perez (24) has limited playing time in the Major Leagues, but hit .310 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI along with 26 stolen bases in 67 games across three minor league levels in 2014. Perez’s main asset is his speed, but as his high batting average shows, he has the ability to be a solid outfielder in the future.

While Perez will most likely play out the rest of this season with the Major League squad he’ll probably be playing in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre next season and provide some minor league depth for the Yankees’ system. Hopefully, Perez can help out the big league squad in the near future.
