The question for the Yankees has been whether right field would be a position of need at least down the road. However, are they setting up for a change at that position earlier than we think? According to Jon Heyman on twitter Andruw Jones has agreed to a $2 million base with incentives. The incentives are worth about $1.4 million. The only thing keeping this from hitting the ink right now is a physical. Which Jones should pass. I’m a big fan of the signing. Jones isn’t the hitter he once was,  but he provided some pop off the bench. His isolated power (ISO) was .247 last year and he hit 13 home runs in 222 plate appearances. Yesterday, general manager Brian Cashman went back into the bargain basement store like he did last year and he may have found a nice sale on an ex-Boston Red Sox. According to Cashman, New York has signed former Boston lefty Hideki Okajima to a minor league contract and will be invited into spring training via a non-roster invitation. Well apparently Kobe Bryant knows the scoop on Alex Rodriguez according to the NY Post.  According to multiple sources, the Yankees third baseman recently followed a recommendation from Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers star, and traveled to Germany for an experimental therapy called Orthokine on his bothersome right knee. New York Yankees legendary pitcher Whitey Ford is amazing for some odd facts almost as much as for his accomplishments on the mound.
