New York Yankees superstar and generational talent Aaron Judge attracts more vitriol from fans and the media than any other player in baseball. Despite being tied to zero on- or off-field controversies and being one of the best hitters of all time, Judge continues to collect a mob of eager, delusional haters, many of them residing in New York.
And, what do you know, another instance has emerged of the New York media negatively obsessing over Aaron Judge and trying to tear him down. This time around, WFAN producer Rami Lavi was the aggressor.
Following the New York Knicks' epic Game 1 comeback win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, Lavi — rather than bask in the positivity of the moment for New York sports — decided it was a good time to blast Judge. And he did so by insinuating that Knicks guard Jalen Brunson gave New York sports fans more in one night than Judge has done in almost a decade.
It was the kind of tweet that Lavi should be ashamed of, but instead, he's likely sitting back in his armchair with a villain grin and watching the likes roll in.
Jalen Brunson did more for New York sports fans last night than Aaron Judge has done in 9 years

Then again, while there is a sad market out there for Judge hate, the Yankees slugger also has plenty of supporters in the Twitterverse.M any of them came after Lavi for his absurd and ugly post. X user @2Freedom22 pointed out that Judge has been to a World Series (Brunson has not been to an NBA Finals), whereas user @moneymosh12 came through with a more pragmatic argument: "Judge is better at baseball than Brunson is at basketball and it’s not even particularly close. Brunson has the ball in his hands more per game than Judge has at bats per game so that’s not even an argument either."
Ridiculous Aaron Judge hate continues to bother Yankees fans more and more
The more general reaction to Lavi's tweet wasn't even a defense of Judge, but rather an overall criticism of Lavi's negative mindset. "What’s the point to wake up and [expletive] on Aaron judge because Jalen Brunson helped win game one of the eastern conference finals lmao," @BLBlueShirts26 wrote.
User @GODJ2 made a grander point that the Yankees are always getting randomly dragged into other discussions in sports, all for the sake of negativity:
Why is it what any team does, in any sport, fans turn around and point to the Yankees lmao...it's insane. Team makes a trade - "haha Yankees", team does well "haha Yankees". What losers. https://t.co/kOflbGTA72

Aaron Judge haters are just outing themselves as envious weaklings
Seeing as Judge does alost nothing to invite any real criticism (unless you're going to make some backwards argument that he's not "controversial enough"), it's become obvious through the years that anyone hating on the Captain is just projecting their own insecurity, envy, and weakness. As they say, envy is the declaration of inferiority.
To hear this type of Judge hate coming from a New York sports radio voice adds even more pathetic sadness to the ordeal. We should be celebrating, not tearing down, our local sports icons, especially the ones with absolutely zero baggage.
