You know how you KNOW it's going bad for an opposing fan base? You conduct a quick can on social media. What are they talking about? Where's their focus? For Boston Red Sox fans, they just can't quit the New York Yankees. The "rent free" crowd fully turned the tables on ... themselves?
For whatever reason, the Red Sox's malfeasance and pathetic effort to start the 2026 season isn't enough for these people to complain about. They're now the Schedule Police. Wait until they find out that the MLB schedule is ... the same for every team. That'll surely break their brains.
Red Sox Twitter, with a bottle of whiskey and handgun at their disposal each night as they watch their team average 3.69 runs per game (29th in MLB), can't seem to comprehend that the win-loss column changes every day and that the Yankees not holding a win against a team above .500 is probably the most misleading tidbit running right now. More than half of the league has a losing record.
Let's not forget, only four teams as of this writing are above .500 in the AL, including the 25-23 White Sox. The NL is much better, but interleague play has only brought the Yankees matchups against the Giants, Marlins, Brewers and Mets so far. They blew two late games against Milwaukee last week.
Also ... let's not forget that the Yankees beating up on teams like the Mariners, Rangers, Orioles, and RED SOX (swept them!) contributed to those teams — wait for it — being under .500. Math, what a concept.
Fewest games against a team with a winning record:

1. Yankees - 6
T2. White Sox, Twins, Astros - 15
But when I said they had a cupcake schedule a month ago, I was called words never heard before...
Yankees strength of schedule has nothing to do with anything so far in 2026
All Red Sox fans are doing is emphasizing the fact that their team sucks and can't beat better opponents. Would love for Sox fans to explain to us why they're 1-5 against the 20-30 Astros. They've also lost series to the Reds, Padres, Phillies, Braves, Twins, Tigers and Blue Jays. They randomly farted out two wins against the Brewers somehow. Outside of that triumph, they've got nothing anybody would care to write home about.
But that's just the thing. We are not even two months into the MLB season. The overall play hasn't exactly been inspiring. Sure, the Yankees got swept by the Brewers and Rays during two of their worst stretches so far. Perhaps we can indict them for that later down the road. And we'll be happy to if it's necessary.
On the flip side, if we want to look at real stats, the Yankees have won series against four teams that have a top-10 ERA in the sport. Whatever the case, the schedule is the schedule. Will all these Red Sox dolts have the same energy when New York has to face the Rays, Guardians (twice) and White Sox over the next month? That'll somehow turn into, "Congrats, you beat two AL Central teams and another with the lowest payroll in the sport!".
Remember when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2018 and went 16-3 against the Orioles? They were accused of an inflated record because they notched a ridiculous 29 wins against the O's and Blue Jays (who were also bad). What did Boston fans say in response to that? "Well, we took care of business against the bad teams and you didn't!"
Fair enough. And guess what? The Yankees face another bad team — the Red Sox — seven more times in the first half. Let's see if they can keep padding the stats and further distance themselves from the dreck of the AL.
