The New York Yankees are red hot right now, winning three straight and seven of their last 10 games, including their series opener against the Seattle Mariners on Monday night

It was the Aaron Judge show for New York, as the reigning AL MVP hit two home runs and robbed another in the Yankees’ 10-4 win.

New York is hoping to stay hot with lefty Nestor Cortes (4-2, 5.30 ERA) on the mound on Tuesday night against Logan Gilbert (3-2, 3.60 ERA).

Cortes has not been nearly as sharp as he was last season, but the Yankees are still 6-4 in his 10 starts.

Here are the odds and my best bet for this Tuesday night matchup:

Yankees vs. Mariners prediction and pick

The Yankees are underdogs in this game, but I think there is value in taking them to win.

Cortes has struggled in the 2023 campaign, but the Mariners are one of the worst teams in MLB against left-handed pitching, ranking 26th in OPS this season.

That should help the Yankees lefty turn things around after allowing four or more runs in four of his last six outings.

I don’t want to take anything away from Gilbert, who has been terrific with a 2.79 Fielding Independent Pitching, but he’s had a favorable schedule this month, facing the Detroit Tigers once and Oakland A’s twice in five starts.

New York’s offense is humming at the moment, and it has been since Judge returned from the injured list.

The Mariners have struggled out of the gate in 2023, so I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Yankees pull off an upset here if Cortes slows down the M’s bats.
