When does Yankees Spring Training start? Report dates for all 30 teams

Against all odds, the 2023 Yankees spring training schedule is right around the corner! It feels like just yesterday that the Bronx Bombers were battling the Houston Astros in the ALCS, which, uh ... yeah, let's just forget that ever happened.

The World Baseball Classic throws an interesting wrinkle into this upcoming season, as a few Yankees (Nestor Cortes Jr., for example) will be participating, repping their countries, and altering their arrival timelines.

Luckily, there won't be too many Yankees burdened by that possibility, and it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to uncover that Brian Cashman will be in Team USA's ear daily about limiting Nasty Nestor's innings.

The Yankees will be arriving in Tampa, FL as an almost-complete unit sooner than you can say "Carlos Rodón Contract"!

When do Yankees pitchers and catchers report to spring training?

Yankees pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training by Thurs., Feb. 16 -- unless they're participating in the WBC. In that case, they're required to show up three days earlier to check in on Feb. 13.

Hopefully, the Grapefruit League sun won't be too sweltering at that point.

When is the 2023 World Baseball Classic?

Fair follow-up question! The World Baseball Classic will take players out of camp for a few weeks, and the action will take place from March 8 to March 21, 2023. Cortes will hurl for Team USA, but the Yankees will be one player richer than they expected, as Harrison Bader pulled himself out of Team Israel's player pool in an effort to continue to rehab his injuries/chug more beers courtside at Madison Square Garden.

When do Yankees position players report to spring training?

Expect Yankees position players to report on Feb. 20, just four days after their mound counterparts arrive. Remember when "Pitchers and Catchers" felt like such a standalone date and a line in the sand? Four days! Not much time at all for Tommy Kahnle to pick a clubhouse chair before the offense arrives.

When is the Yankees' first spring training game?

The Yankees begin a 32-game spring training slate (17 of those games at home) on Feb. 25 on the road in Clearwater against the NL Champion Philadelphia Phillies.

Their first game at Steinbrenner Field takes place the very next day against the Atlanta Braves. Man. No breathers here at all.
