CC Sabathia's latest post proves that nobody has it better ahead of MLB playoffs

While it's exceedingly difficult to make it through the October grind and land on championship glory, Yankees icon CC Sabathia has a better chance than most this season.

Forget the FanGraphs odds and various percentages. Let's give each team one-in-12 odds of making it to the top of the mountain. With that baseline assumption, Sabathia has a 25% shot at taking home the hardware this season, given that all three teams he toiled for during his big-league career have clinched a spot in the dance.

Which team is Sabathia rocking with? That's anyone's guess, though Yankees fans would like to hope he's got more friends in the organization than he does in Cleveland, a franchise that's seeking to break a monster drought.

Either way, Sabathia has a personal stake in the Yanks, Guardians, and Milwaukee Brewers, three teams that have a decent chance of making history this fall.

Yankees fan favorite CC Sabathia has clinched the MLB Playoffs three times this season

If only Sabathia -- a Vallejo, CA native -- had his hometown Oakland A's to root for, too, during their "farewell season." Oh, well. Three out of four isn't bad.

Before things get started this fall, Sabathia might rank as the foremost hero in Milwaukee Brewers postseason history, putting the team on his back (quite literally) down the stretch to clinch a 2008 Wild Card berth and break a playoff drought that dated back to 1982. In 17 starts after being acquired for Matt LaPorta and Michael Brantley, Sabathia went 11-2, completing seven games to earn a spot at the very last minute.

No matter which of the three cities ends up on top, Sabathia will be venerated in the resulting celebration, so he really can't lose. He walked off the mound in all three cities with his head held high.

Now, which of these three teams will earn Sabathia's Hall of Fame cap logo when he's inducted, possibly as soon as 2025? That's anyone's guess. Maybe there's more at stake this October than we thought at first blush.
