Most biased Astros media source in MLB history hilariously accused of loving Yankees

What a world.

There may be no more biased baseball personality than Ben Verlander, a man whose career balances on the fact that his brother is — you guessed it! — Clem Labine of the 1950s Brooklyn Dodgers. Just kidding! It's Justin Verlander, and the familial connection has given Verlander's MLB coverage a distinct Astros bend over the years.

It served him well during the aftermath of the Astros' cheating scandal, increasing his portfolio of both backers and despisers. All press is good press, after all. That's especially true if you're trying to rise up the ranks at FOX Sports MLB and you really want to maximize your platform so you can eventually spread the word about Babe Ruth's wife's mysterious death.

But these days, with Verlander The Pitcher in San Francisco and Verlander The Analyst watching the Yankees grab eight straight victories spanning three seasons over the Astros in Houston, affiliations are getting a little hazy. Folks on Instagram can't seem to keep things straight, which is especially disturbing to Verlander himself, who thought he had built a pretty good brand.

Verlander shared a list this week of the American League teams he thinks are most likely to make the World Series. Somehow, the Yankees topped it (maybe because he's watched them kick around his 'Stros the past few years). The Astros are No. 2. Boston's not on here? Weird. The list, clearly meant to evoke some sort of feelings, got folks riled up in the comments. Those folks, predictably, ignored the facts and took the conversation where they wanted to take it.

As it turns out, "Being Named Verlander" isn't enough to stop people from accusing you of Yankees bias, so what hope is there for the rest of us?

Ben Verlander, brother of Justin, obviously prefers the Houston Astros to the New York Yankees. Apparently, that doesn't stop Yankee Bias.

If anything, having a "biased Yankee fan opinion" would result in the Yankees' contention chances being deemphasized rather than fluffed up on one of these lists. If you've been forced to watch this team all summer, you may be entitled to compensation, and you certainly won't rank them atop the AL in a public survey.

Congrats to Ben Verlander on finally becoming one of us, though. The trolls love you unconditionally, then one day they drop you like an Aaron Judge World Series popup. The circle of life.
