You know how Yankees haters make fun of New York fans whenever the crowd gasps at a long fly ball that doesn't quite make it out of the park? The part they fail to realize is that's exactly how dialed in the entire stadium is. Doesn't matter what day of the week it is. Yankees fans show up.

And on a disgusting, rainy afternoon on Sunday in the Bronx on Memorial Day weekend, it was no different. Over 41,000 in attendance sat through uncomfortable and unpleasant conditions with hopes that their team would salvage a measly split against the division-leading Tampa Bay Rays.

Saturday's rainout helped give the struggling Bombers a breather. They needed that and more, but Aaron Judge did what needed to be done. In a 0-0 deadlock in the bottom of the ninth inning, he called game.

Judge sent a two-run homer into the right field seats and Yankee Stadium went into a frenzy. The walk-off 2-0 win to got the team back on track for a moment and halted the red-hot Rays.

Immediately after his heroics, "New York, New York" was blasting over the speakers as he rounded first base. YES Network's Meredith Marakovits pulled him aside for an interview, and the fans made it a memorable moment.

Aaron Judge delivers much-needed feel-good moment for Yankees fans

Listen to that crowd. What a roar, indeed. And that's the support Judge needs and deserves after he snapped a career-worst RBI drought with that swing of the bat. His 11-game homerless streak was also starting to get some folks concerned. That's the standard he's set.

Nonetheless, that's a perfect video for you to send to anybody that says Yankee Stadium is filled with tourists or that the fandom is packed with people who walk around constantly yelling "27 rings!". The context here is important, too. The Yankees were 5-11 over their last 16 games. Since things really started to go off the rails on May 8, they've averaged just three runs per game. The bullpen is the bullpen, but the offense cannot do this when the pitching has largely held up its end of the bargain. They were bordering unwatchable, and blew at least five games in agonizing fashion over that stretch.

You can read the discourse on social media. Most Yankees fans have lost their patience. They're arguing with each other for no reason. But their passion never dissipates. They will stay through the bottom of the ninth. They will relentlessly cheer or viciously boo pending the outcome.

Thankfully, Sunday afternoon gave us the former, and we can only hope Judge's magical moment helping spur the fans' renewed energy carries the team out of their current funk.
