Yankees Game Today: Yankees vs Blue Jays Lineup, Odds, Prediction, Pick, Pitcher, TV for Sept. 29
The New York Yankees have won seven in a row after Tuesday night’s drubbing of the Toronto Blue Jays, which, we have to say, took us by surprise.
It was a must-win game for the Jays, but the Yankees’ bats once again proved to be far too potent. Then again, we must mention the pitching staff, which took on an unexpected difficult task when Jameson Taillon left the game with an injury after just 2.1 innings of work.
Collectively, the bullpen surrendered just one run on two hits and three walks across 6.2 innings. Throw in seven runs of support — yes, another epic bomb from Giancarlo Stanton that drove in three of those — and you’ve got yourself a satisfying 7-2 win. A win that saw the Yanks gain a game on both the Jays and the Red Sox because Chris Sale couldn’t beat the Orioles. Hilarious stuff.
On Wednesday night, the Yankees will go for the series win with their ace on the mound. Let’s take a look at the betting preview for the festivities.

Yankees vs Blue Jays Odds Today
According to our friends at WynnBET, the Yankees are slight favorites at -115 on the moneyline (bet $115 to win $100) with the Jays as the “underdogs” at -105 (bet $105 to win $100). This is what we call a toss-up. On the run line, you can get more favorable odds for the Yanks, who cost +140 (bet $100 to win $140) if you take the -1.5 handicap, meaning they have to win the game by two runs or more. The Jays get the +1.5 advantage (they can win or lose by one), which comes in at -165 (bet $165 to win $100).
The over/under for total runs scored is 8. The over price is -115 (bet $115 to win $100) and the under is -105 (bet $105 to win $100).
Yankees Pitcher Today
It’ll be Gerrit Cole (16-8, 3.08 ERA) in his final start of the regular season vs Jose Berrios (12-9, 3.48 ERA) on Wednesday night. Cole’s last start against Toronto was one of his worst of the year, but it was because he left the game with a hamstring injury. He lasted just 3.2 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) in the loss. On the year, he’s largely been good against Toronto, going 2-1 and allowing just five earned runs across 19.1 innings.
After this, Cole will be getting whichever playoff game comes first: the AL Wild Card or the play-in if there’s a three-way tie.
A fellow righty in Berrios will oppose him, and he beat the Yankees his last time out on Sept. 9 with 6.2 innings of two-run ball. He’s been good as of late, twirling six straight quality starts, with the Jays going 4-2 in those games. In the two losses, the offense scored just three combined runs, so they really can’t have a repeat of Tuesday night if they want to salvage the series.

Yankees vs Blue Jays Prediction Today
We hate to get greedy, but how can you bet against the Yankees right now, especially at this price? Berrios is good. The Blue Jays offense is good. But Cole is on the mound and is likely determined to put forth a gem in what could be his final start of the year (don’t forget, the Yankees could still blow it!).
On top of that, the Jays’ offense has cooled off. They’ve scored just 41 runs over their last 13 games after their psychotic outputs against the Orioles, and they’re 6-7 in those contests.
We’ll take another Yankees win. 6-3.
