Former Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia let one slip on live television. Whoops!
Leave it to CC Sabathia to explore as many post-baseball career opportunities if the New York Yankees aren’t ready to give him a job within the organization. Ever since hanging up his cleats, the former Cy Young winner has his own podcast with broadcaster Ryan Ruocco and on Friday made his basketball broadcasting debut while calling Nets-Celtics.
Everyone knows CC is an unfiltered dude, so at times it’s hard for him to hold back. You hear him go off on the R2C2 podcast. He’s all over the place. But it’s a little bit different when you’re on live television, isn’t it?
Sabathia almost made it the entire way. His slip-up came with just over two minutes remaining in the game when he accidentally dropped an F-bomb … while talking about unworn suits! Of all subjects!
Just CC bein’ CC! Sorry, YES Network, you knew what you were signing up for! The big man was in the booth with Ruocco and Sarah Kustok in Brooklyn while the Nets traveled to Boston to play their preseason game in the TD Garden and seemed to be having a blast all night.
But now there could be a fine coming his way for the inappropriate language. We get it, being on a podcast so often makes you forget there are strict rules to abide by. The YES Network can take solace in the fact that it was a preseason game and the F-bomb came in garbage time.
On another note, how about CC looking extremely fresh in his new tailored suit?
You’re telling us that general manager Brian Cashman couldn’t use that look combined with CC’s wits and candor as a special assistant in the front office? Come on now. It’ll keep him out of trouble, too! He can drop all the F-bombs he wants in the executive suites at Yankee Stadium working behind the scenes.
Just something for the Yankees to consider during one of the most difficult offseasons in recent memory…
