Domingo German

Domingo Germán was placed on administrative leave by Major League Baseball on September 19 due to domestic violence allegations.

Though his future with the New York Yankees is murky, pending the outcome of this horrible situation, he burst onto the scene in 2019, performance-wise. In 24 starts, Germán went 18-4 with a 4.03 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP and a 9.6 SO/9 ratio.

During his first 10 starts of the season, the 27-year-old went 9-1 with a 2.60 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. In his final 14 starts, Germán went 9-3, but with a 4.93 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP.

Verdict:

One of the breakout players of the year, Germán ended what was otherwise an inspiring, exciting season on a terrible note. Not only were the Yankees unable to use him in the postseason, but the allegations are alarming for a player who was well-liked in the Yankee clubhouse.
