Chad Green

Chad Green was not exactly a member of the starting rotation. He did, however, start 15 games as an “opener,” a strategy used effectively by the Yanks.

Green only allowed an earned run in three of those 15 starts. On August 15, he allowed five earned runs in just one-third of an inning against the Cleveland Indians. In his other 14 starts, he pitched to a 1.42 ERA, a 14.68 SO/9 ratio and a 1.11 WHIP.

Verdict:

Green’s regular season was somewhat of an up and down roller coaster. As a starter, however, he almost always got the Yankees off to a good start.
