The Yankees have played remarkably well the past several weeks, winning 15 of 16 games played since April 21, sweeping three teams and winning a series 3-1.
The Yankees rookies have stolen the show in their latest home series. In an ALDS rematch, the Yanks swept the Indians, two wins of which came from walk-off hits. Miguel Andújar was the hero of Friday’s game as his game-winning single yielded his first career walk off.

Gleyber Torres came through in a big spot in Sunday’s contest when he crushed a three-run walk-off homer that landed in the Yankees’ bullpen. At 21, Gleyber became the youngest Yankee in history to have a walk-off. Solid ABs from Neil Walker and Aaron Judge helped with a fantastic come-from-behind victory to end the Yanks’ 18 consecutive game stretch.

ESPN’s Cole Harvey reported Aaron Judge’s praise for his rookie teammates:
"“It doesn’t matter if it’s the bottom of the ninth, a big situation, or if it’s their first at-bat, or if you need to move the runner over. They always just stick to their plan, stick to their approach and just get the job done. Like it’s just business as usual."
Though hitting may overshadow pitching in walk-off wins, the starting pitching has improved immensely. CC Sabathia continues to look dominant on the mound. Despite his limitations, he’s been excellent and has proven his importance to the team. (Friday’s game: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K.)

Sonny Gray has looked significantly better in his past two starts. The No. 4 starter seeks to further this success by attacking the zone, incorporating his fastball and increasing velocity. (Saturday’s game: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K.)
Rookie Domingo German has been stellar in his two games thus far, and he tossed a six-inning no-hitter in first career start. (Sunday’s game: 6 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 K.) German has already done more than the Yankees could have asked. While Jordan Montgomery is on the DL, German will have more opportunities to showcase his abilities; he has potential to be an absolute weapon as a sixth starter.
With the Boston Red Sox coming to town on Tuesday, the Yanks look to further their wins and take the series from the AL East rival.
Yankees‘ ace Luis Severino (5-1, 2.11 ERA) takes the bump in Game 1 against struggling Drew Pomeranz (1-1, 6.14 ERA). In Game 2, Masahiro Tanaka (4-2, 4.39 ERA) will face another struggling Sox pitcher, David Price (2-4, 5.11 ERA). Finally, Sabathia (2-0, 1.39 ERA) looks to prove his durability against the sparkling Rick Porcello (5-0, 2.14 ERA) in the series finale.
