After trading Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman, the Yankees are now officially in sell-mode and should be open to trading just about anyone on the roster.
Even after pulling off blockbuster trades for their two elite relievers, the New York Yankees have a number of intriguing trade chips remaining on their roster if they are willing to go into a full tear down. Without the three headed monster in their bullpen, the team has lost their only strong point in 2016.
There is no way the team can kid themselves that they are a contender any more. It’s time to explore trades for their remaining veteran assets. Here are some potential scenarios that could go down over the next 24 hours:
Alright so this probably won’t happen but its pretty obvious that the Dodgers want to get rid of Puig and the Yankees have not been very thrilled about Pineda this year. Also the fact that C.C still has trade value after a couple of very disappointing seasons is saying something. The Dodgers have insisted highly touted prospect De Leon is off limits, but they might finally be desperate enough to move him as they are only a game back of the Giants and may be without
Clayton Kershawthe rest of the year. This would give LA a very formidable rotation of Maeda, Kazmir, Pineda, Sabathia, and McCarthy. Buehler is a former 2015 first round pick out of Vanderbilt, who has yet to throw a professional pitch for the Dodgers. Buehler and De leon would no doubt strengthen a Yankee farm system that lacks high end pitching prospects.

In light of this weekend’s lack-luster performance and the trades they have already made, the Yankees now know they are sellers and should be looking to gain young, controllable talent as they look to the future.
