New York Yankees News: Luis Severino Will Make His Debut Next Week
The New York Yankees didn’t make a trade today, however, there was an announcement of consequence today. Instead of trading Luis Severino for a big bat or big prospect, they are just going to call him up to the majors instead and have him start for them at the big league level.
Now just guessing, to keep Severino on a regular schedule, he started last Wednesday, so his next start would be Tuesday at home against the Boston Red Sox.

Severino, between AA and AAA this year is 9-2 with a 2.45 ERA. In 99.1 innings, he’s struck out 98 and has a WHIP of 0.998
According to MLB.com, he is the Yankees number one prospect.
If you’re not going to trade Severino for one of the big name players, then you have to use him and you have to have him come up and see what he has. Sometimes a young guy can give a team a little boost of energy and the Yankees hope that Severino can help give them a spark.
With Michael Pineda down and CC Sabathia not being good, it’s time to see if Severino can stick.
They didn’t trade him, now it’s time to show him off.
