New York Yankees News: Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez To Represent Yankees in Futures Game

On Thursday June 25th, the MLB held their annual tradition of announcing the rosters for the 2015 MiLB Futures Game that will take place next month during the All-Star Break in Cincinnati.

We’re pleased to announce that Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez have been selected to represent the New York Yankees during this years game.

Aaron Judge, recently promoted to AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, is slashing a combined .277/.345/.500 with 12 homers and 46 RBI through 63 games with Trenton and three games with Scranton. It’s important to note that Judge is just 1-for-10 since arriving in Scranton, but he’s probably just finding his stride.

Gary Sanchez on the other hand has spent his entire season thus far with the RailRiders, slashing .256/.313/.432 with 8 home runs and 28 RBI in 192 plate appearances.

You can watch these two young stars in action on July 12th at 3:00 pm EST at Great American Ballpark. The way the Futures Game works is significantly different than your traditional All-Star Game. Instead of dividing the league in half and creating two teams, both sides in the Futures Game are divided into a United States team and a World team. American born players are on the U.S. while those born outside the country play on the World team.

Judge, a native of Linden, California, will represent the U.S. while Sanchez, a native of the Dominican Republic will represent the World team.

Hopefully when Judge gets up to the plate, Sanchez will throw down his index finger and call for a fastball right down the middle!
