The New York Yankees came in at 25 on FanSided’s Fandom 250, a list of the 250 best fan bases in sports, entertainment, and pop culture.

On December 6th, FanSided revealed their first annual Fandom 250 rankings, which answer the question of which sports teams, celebrities, TV shows, and other pop culture phenomena have the most passionate fans.

The New York Yankees fared extremely well in the rankings, which shouldn’t be surprising considering they are one of the most recognizable and successful franchises in any sport and have fans from all around the world.

The Yankees finished 11th overall among sports teams and second among Major League Baseball clubs. The Chicago Cubs actually took him the number one spot on the whole list after their historic World Series championship run.

These rankings do take into account current trends, and the truth is that the atmosphere around the Cubbies is far more electric than in the Bronx at the moment. Not only did they win their first title in over a century, but they are well positioned to be the best team in baseball for at least the next few years given that incredible collection of young talent.

New York’s front office a good job of stoking the fires of their own fan base this summer though, they unexpectedly sold at the August 1st trade deadline and handed several key jobs to homegrown prospects. The organization has the best farm system in baseball going into 2017 and are well on their way towards building their next dynasty.
