The New York Yankees once again have had to make an unusual amount of call-ups this season with all the injuries that have been sustained. A majority have been for outfielders, which was kind of expected with an older group of players, along with their playing style. One of the call-ups was Mason Williams, a 23-year old from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He played just eight games for the Yankees before getting injured, and unfortunately it appears that will be it for the rest of this season.
Mason Williams will have season-ending shoulder surgery on August 7.

The Yankees announced today that Williams would be having season ending shoulder surgery. The injury occurred as he was sliding back into first on a pick-off pitch. Miguel Cabrera was on first at the time and as soon as Williams shouted in pain Miggy called for the Yankees trainers to come over.
Williams had a .283 BA with three RBI and a homer during his time in Pinstripes. It was his first stretch with the Yanks while being in the system since 2010.
The next time we’ll see Mason Williams is in Spring Training 2016.
