New York Yankees Minor League Notes: Kaprielian Signs; All Star Games

Even though there wasn’t Major League baseball yesterday, there were still happenings for the New York Yankees minor league teams. Let’s take a look.

First of all, the Yankees finally came to terms with first round pick James Kaprielian. The Yankees went over slot to get him, but the Yankees had to get it done by Friday.

Kaprielian joins Luis Severino, Brady Lail, Eric Ruth among others as the Yankees starting pitching prospect depth. Not bad no?

Kyle Roller made the International League All-Star team and came through in a big way. He went 2-2 with a game tying two run single and scored the game winning run as the International League Beat the Pacific Coast League 5-4. He was named the top star of the game for the IL. The PCL top star? Former Yankees prospect Peter O’Brien.

The AA All-Star Game was a tie so they settled it with a old fashioned home run derby. The East one and had a few Yankees involved in the game. Gary Sanchez and Jake Cave went hitless, but Cave did drive in a run. Lail and Ruth each pitched a scoreless inning.

The Yankees fifth round pick, Chance Adams, has already reached Charleston. Adams threw two scoreless innings in his debut over the weekend.
