New York Yankees News: Brett Gardner To Replace Gordon In ASG
New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner made the Final Vote Ballot for the 2015 All-Star Game in Cincinnati. Originally it was up to the fans to vote Gardy in to the game, but with Kansas City Royals’ Alex Gordon recently being put on the DL, Gardner made it in purely on how hot he has been playing.
Gordon suffered a left groin strain in yesterday’s game, and had to be carted off the field. During the top of the 5th inning in today’s game it was shown in Yankees Stadium on the big screen that Gardner was selected by Ned Yost to replace Gordon.

At the time Gardner was 3-3 with a homer and RBI. That had him at a .305 BA with 40 RBIs and ten home runs on the season. Though Gardner was only currently fourth in the Final Vote to get in, Ned Yost saw that it clearly shouldn’t have even come to that, and chose him above the three who were in front of him.
Gardner will join Mike Trout, Lorenzo Cain, J.D. Martinez, Jose Bautista, Adam Jones, and Brock Holt in the American League’s outfield selections.
He will join Dellin Betances and Mark Teixeira representing the Yankees on the team.
