New York Yankees News: Organization Stands Up For A-Rod

To say the New York Yankees and Alex Rodriguez have had some differences between them in the last couple of years would be an understatement. Even though those differences are still very much in the air, the Yankees have recently gone to the defense of Arod, in a very important matter of – juice boxes. Yes, juice boxes is what it took the Yankees to protect their beloved infamous star.

Tampa Bay Ray’s Single-A team, the Port Charlotte Stone Crabs tried to plan an “A-rod juice box night” trying to poke fun at the long time player. The first 500 fans were supposed to get a juice box that said things such as “100% juiced”, or “side affects include” tainted records, inflated ego, omission from the hall of fame, and more!”. As silly this is, the Yankees did the right thing and got the “juice box night” cancelled.

In response to this, the Yankees also got an apology from the team saying the following:

“The Charlotte Stone Crabs organization would like to apologize for the insensitive nature of tonight’s promotion. We in no way meant any ill-intent or to offend anyone through this promotion.”

As big of a lie that is, it squashed any problems that could’ve came from it, should it have actually happened. Though it didn’t happen, the fact is that it was extremely unprofessional, and really childish. The Rays reached out to the Yankees to let them know they had no part, and weren;t aware of this ‘promotion’.

The home run bonus issue has not yet been figured out between the Yankees and Arod, but who says small gestures like this can’t happen in the middle of it all?
