Shreve was acquired along with David Carpenter for Manny Banuelos on New Year’s Day. Pinder was added to the 40-man roster this year to avoid leaving him unprotected in the Rule V draft.
Shreve will give the Yankees another left-handed option to go along with Justin Wilson and kind-of sort-of basically the close Andrew Miller.
