You’re probably caught up in March Madness right now, but consider this on Sunday afternoon as your watching the tournament and probably setting your bracket on fire like the rest of the country. The Mets and Yankees don’t play each other often during Spring Training, but this year is a home and home for the squads.
CC Sabathia will be making his second spring start Sunday afternoon when the Yankees travel to Port St. Lucie to take on the Mets. His opponent on the mound for the Mets? Matt Harvey. Pretty good right?

Sabathia should ramp it up to 45 pitches on Sunday, and even though he gave up a couple of runs in his second inning of work, he liked what he did according to NJ.com’s Brendan Kuty.
"“You don’t want to give up runs, but it’s spring training, it is what it is,” he said. “Just being able to command the baseball, let it go, throw it hard, feels good … But like I said, being able to go at 100 percent, full effort, and to be able to let the ball go and know that I’m not going to feel anything, and I know where the ball’s going, it felt good.”"
Sabathia was pretty steady at 92 with his fastball. If he can continue to pitch at that velocity he can survive that way as long as he locates the ball like he did in the first inning. You don’t have to overpower every hitter. Andy Pettitte didn’t, but he located and that was enough to get the job done.
Sabathia and Harvey. A pretty important game for both teams as they have two rehabbing pitchers looking to get healthy and ready to go for the long season ahead. Not bad for a Sunday in March no?
