Eovaldi was able to retire the first seven batters before Phillies back up catcher, Cameron Rupp, got a base hit. Eovaldi gave up one another hit in the fourth inning before being taken out of the game.

In his four innings of work he was able to throw 38 strikes out of 45 pitches, while having three strikeouts. Everybody in camp is very excited to see how well his control has been in camp. His main issue in Miami was his control, but looks like Larry Rothschild has worked his magic with the young arm.

Chase Whitley came in after Eovaldi finished his four innings, and threw two shout out innings of his own. His role has increased over the injury to Chris Capuano. The battle for that last spot in the rotation is now an open competition.

On the hitting side, Chase Headley continues his very solid spring. He went 1 for 3 with a home run. Of course we have your daily Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod grounded out and walked in today’s game. This spring A-Rod has been very solid going 6-17 while having four walks.

The Yankees today shortened their roster a bit today, sending down 10 players to minor league camp. Two notable players that were sent down were Aaron Judge, and Luis Severino. Both have impressed lot of people in camp, and have made fans excited for the future with these two young prospects.

Before today’s game the Yankees had a moment of silence for Yankee great Al Rosen. Al Rosen was an AL MVP in 1953, and was a former president for the New York Yankees. Mr. Rosen died at the age of 91 on Friday.
