It was a fairly goodnight for the Baby Bombers, as they posted a 4-2 record. Here are the recaps.

TRIPLE-A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (57-62) lose to Columbus Clippers (64-56) 2-1

It was a pitchers duel between these two teams, and the RailRiders were not able to come out on top. Some good news to come from this game however is Michael Pineda had a strong start, as he continues his climb back to the majors. He went 4.1 innings, allowing just one run on six hits. John Ryan Murphy also had a good night at the plate, going 2-for-4. Scranton will continue its series with Columbus at 7:05 PM. Zach Nuding will get the start for the RailRiders, as he comes into the game with a 3-4 record and 5.80 ERA.

DOUBLE-A

Trenton Thunder (58-61) defeat the Bowie Baysox (59-61) 9-0

With some great pitching combined with a powerful offense, the Thunder was able to blank the Baysox. Jairo Heredia picked up the win, as he went six innings, giving up just six hits. Tyler Austin and Mason Williams both had big nights, as they each went yard and had 8 RBI combined. Trenton will continue the series at 7:05 PM. Dan Camarena will get the start, as he is currently 0-4 with a 6.29 ERA.

High-A

Tampa Yankees (57-60) were idle.

After coming off of a victory against Brevard County, the Yankees had a well-deserved day off. They are now prepared to begin a three game series with the Dunedin Blue Jays. Caleb Smith will start for Tampa, as he enters the game with a 2-1 record and 5.31 ERA. Matt Boyd will start on the mound for Dunedin, as he has posted a 5-2 record and an impressive 1.07 ERA. First pitch is set for 6:30 PM.

Low-A

Charleston RiverDogs (57-61) defeat the Rome Braves (45-73) 6-3

It was all around a good game for the RiverDogs for the most part. Although starting pitcher Rookie Davis struggled in the first three innings, Giovanny Gallegos was able to pick him up and get the win. Gallegos pitched a solid three innings, and didn’t give up any runs, just two hits. Dustin Fowler went 2-for-4 for the dogs, and drove in two runs. Charleston will take the field again against Rome at 7:00 PM. Andy Beresford will get the start for the RiverDogs, as he comes into the game with a 1-0 record and 3.81 ERA.

Staten Island Yankees (26-28) defeat the Batavia Muckdogs (24-30) 4-2

Staten Island was able to end their series with Batavia on a high note. Ethan Carnes picked up the win, as he pitched three innings, in which he gave up just one run on three hits. Chris Breen put on quite a show at the plate, as he went 4-4, with all of his hits being doubles. He also drove in a run. The Yankees will begin a series with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at 7:05 PM. Jordan Foley will get the start for SI, looking for his first win. His ERA is 3.38.
