Every time the New York Yankees square off against the Red Sox, it is appointment-level baseball. The rivalry between these two teams goes back further than any other in baseball and, despite arguments to the contrary, is very much alive and well. Sure, the Red Sox are a dumpster fire at the moment and the Yankees have their own problems when it comes to Aaron Judge, but that does not detract from this series being one that will have the eyeballs of the entire league. Unfortunately, some rotten weather is rolling through and is going to make us wait to see what happens.
After falling in the first game of the series, the Yankees are sending Will Warren and his 3.22 ERA to the mound to take on the Red Sox's star offseason acquisition, Ranger Suarez, on Saturday, Unfortunately, the weather forecast was looking a bit dicey from the get-go and over the course of the day, it didn't improve much and now we are officially in a rain delay.
Please be advised we do not intend to start tonight’s game on time.

Yankees vs. Red Sox Rain Delay, 6/6/26: So when will this game start?
Thankfully, this should not be a delay that threatens the game or makes Yankee fans wait too long this evening. Yes, there are thunderstorms in the area and they are going to dump some rain. However, according to the forecast, the rain moves out by 9 PM EST, if not sooner. Given how long it is expected to rain, the field should end up being fine and a delay over two hours being pretty unlikely at the moment.
We will keep this post updated as more information about the delay is made available, including any estimated start times that get announced. In short, there should be baseball this evening and the delay shouldn't take too long, so sit tight.
