UPDATE: It's confirmed. Grisham is hitting the injured list and Dominguez is back with the big-league club.
Ah, yes, another injury. Just what the Yankees needed as they are currently without Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Max Fried. On Friday night, it was Trent Grisham — arguably the team's hottest hitter at the moment — leaving the game with hamstring tightness.
Grisham suffered the injury in the top of the sixth after driving in two runs with a single up the middle. Blue Jays center fielder Myles Straw attempted to throw out the second runner at home and Grisham saw that as an opportunity to take second base.
But it quickly became a Stanton-esque situation, where Grisham slowed down, sped up, and tweaked something. Then an awkward slide into second base made it look even worse. Grisham was removed from the game.
After the 8-5 loss (yeah, the Yankees scored five runs off Trey Yesavage but Ryan Weathers was that much worse), manager Aaron Boone said they would see how Grisham felt in the morning. No tests were scheduled, so we should have an update relatively soon.

Yankees could call up Jasson Dominguez in wake of Trent Grisham's injury
And that brings us to Jasson Dominguez, who has been lighting up Triple-A ever since his rehab assignment began last Friday. Fans have been calling for his promotion after seeing all they needed to: production from the right side of the plate, some reps in right field, the usual good lefty at-bats.
Now, it could become a reality, but not in the way Yankees fans imagined. They wanted Anthony Volpe optioned; they didn't want to lose Grisham for any period of time. Boone said Dominguez being activated on Saturday "could be in play."
The young slugger caught fire over the last three games, going 5-for-11 with two homers, three RBI and two stolen bases. Again, don't think we need to see more of what he could do in the minor leagues. Get him up here regardless of Grisham's situation.
The Yankees will wait until Saturday morning to re-evaluate Trent Grisham, but Aaron Boone said it “could be in play” to activate Jasson Domínguez from his Minor League rehab assignment.

Ryan Weathers is telegraphing his eventual move to Yankees bullpen
Not too long ago, the Ryan Weathers trade looked like a massive winner for the Yankees and Brian Cashman. All it took was three starts to shift that narrative and label Weathers as the odd man out of the rotation once Max Fried returns from injury.
He got shelled against Toronto on Friday night and never really gave his offense a chance. He allowed six earned runs on five hits and a walk across 4 1/3 innings. He struck out only two and hit the Jays' No. 9 hitter with two outs, which led two a two-run homer.
Ryan Weathers has now allowed 15 HR. Only 2 AL pitchers have allowed more than that this season.

Weathers has allowed 16 earned runs over his last three outings against the Jays, Red Sox and Athletics. He's surrendered seven home runs over that span and continues to labor through his performances. He now has a 4.34 ERA and 1.17 WHIP on the year, which isn't bad, but his 1.8 HR/9 are obviously becoming a major problem for New York.
He remains an asset, but with Will Warren clearly the better option at this point, the Yankees will have to make a tough decision on Weathers when the time comes. It'll probably help out everybody, and honestly it's needed sooner than expected because the depleted offense can't afford more starts like this from Weathers while they are missing their top power bats.
