The New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals met for the first time at Kauffman Stadium since their ALDS matchup last October. That was the scene of the Royals' elimination in Game 4, which featured a benches-clearing incident.

Maikel Garcia clowned around the base paths in the sixth inning of that game and his late, awkward and unathletic slide resulted in a collision of sorts with Anthony Volpe. Garcia then stared Volpe down for whatever reason, and Jazz Chisholm stormed over to put Garcia in his place. Tensions escalated, and before you knew it everybody was on the field for no reason.

It ended up blowing over, the Yankees won the game, the Royals were sent home, and nobody thought of Garcia again. Seriously ... who is he?

Then we were reminded on Tuesday night. In the sixth inning (again!) Chisholm stole third base but took exception to the tag by ... Garcia. Royals catcher Freddy Fermin rifled the ball to Garcia, who applied the tag on Chisholm's helmet in what was a bang-bang play. It's understandable why Chisholm might've felt that way in the moment, but upon review this was nothing.

If you're a lip reader, you can probably make out some NSFW commentary from Jazz here. He was not happy.

Yankees' win over Royals has KC fans crying harder than ever over Jazz Chisholm Jr.

If you want to see the meltdown of the century, head on over to Royals Twitter. Unbeknownst to Yankees fans, they were actually gearing up for some sort of Chisholm-Garcia spat because ... this is all they have to live for?

Only in demented person's brain does Maikel Garcia "own" Jazz Chisholm when Garcia got tagged out during a game in which his team was eliminated from the postseason. Just imagine if the roles were reversed here and this was a Yankees fan trying to gas up people on social media.

But once more people caught wind of Jazz's apparent frustration with Garcia after that play, that's when everybody really started to lose it.

Oh no! Not the "you know what!" Mom! Come pick me up! They're saying curses and I'm going to get in trouble!

But this is the best. Nothing like doing a side by side comparison of two players — one of whom has played in nearly double the amount of games because the other was forced to miss time due to injury — and thinking the greater counting stats hold any sort of meaning.

The Yankees won this game 10-2. Max Fried dominated. Aaron Judge hit a 469-foot homer to give New York the lead. Austin Wells had five RBI. And we got some more fake beef involving Jazz and Garcia.

Enjoy it, Royals fans. It might be the highlight of your season as you continue to tread water at .500 in an attempt to build off of last year's playoff appearance.
