One is great. The other might make us walk into a cold lake.

As the New York Yankees attempt to trade Marcus Stroman — a topic that has become the worst kept secret in baseball — outlets all over the place are cooking up scenarios involving other teams that are in need of pitching.

Stroman isn't the only notable name on the market, though. And he's certainly not the most valuable. In fact, a former Yankees pitcher who just had a career season is reportedly on the trade block and should be garnering interest from division rivals.

So if you want the true rollercoaster experience of how the Yankees could get help but then be delivered a gut punch, let's check out Bleacher Report's recent trade proposals from a recent article, "Win-Win MLB Trade Ideas 1 Week Before 2025 Spring Training."

Want the good news or bad news first? We'll go with the good news, because it's not like it's a surprise. B/R believes the Yankees and Braves could do business on Stroman, with Atlanta taking on a majority of the right-hander's money (which is the main objective here). The return doesn't matter, though both Ian Anderson and Grant Holmes are mentioned as potential options in a return because they're out of minor-league options.

The Braves just revived Chris Sale after countless injuries and poor play for five years. He won the NL Cy Young in 2024, and while Stroman probably won't do that in 2025, there's at least optimism a bigger market contender might be interested in working with the Yankees' latest distressed asset.

Could Yankees, Braves link up for Marcus Stroman trade? Please?

Ok, now for the bad news: Michael King back in the AL East. We wondered if the Yankees would ask the Padres about a potential deal, but we've yet to hear anything remotely reliable about any traction there.

So perhaps the ... Baltimore Orioles would swoop in and strike a deal with San Diego to bring King across the country?! They need some sort of ace-like presence in their rotation after Corbin Burnes departed. They brought in Charlie Morton and Tomoyuki Sugano to assist Zach Eflin, Grayson Rodriguez and Albert Suarez as others recover from injury, but any baseball fan knows that isn't enough to make a playoff run.

Acquiring King would be the start of the Orioles building enough reputability and depth to avoid choking yet again in October. They would also have the revenge factor over New York having a former Yankee on the team who was tossed aside for a shinier toy.

Though King won't launch the Orioles to the top of any rotation rankings, it could represent a building block move that eventually pays off at the Yankees' expense.

He is still a rental, though.
