We have a few more hours of unabated peace until the official start of the 2025 regular season gets underway. Every MLB team will take part in Opening Day on March 27, with the action starting at 3 p.m. ET. The New York Yankees will host the Milwaukee Brewers in the Bronx on ESPN at that time.
Whether you think the Yankees are a division winner, Wild Card team, or playoff-less downtrodden mess, this is your last call to get your takes in. Once the campaign begins, all bets are off.
Though this version of the Bombers looks wildly different after the departure of Juan Soto and others, the roster, as currently constructed, is one that could see an improvement year over year thanks to the emphasis on athleticism and defense. Maybe that's wishful thinking, but Yankees fans have seen a lot of underwhelming, inflexible rosters rack up 90 wins during the Aaron Judge era.

Yankees 2025 Opening Day Lineup vs Milwaukee Brewers
Here's who the Yanks will be sending onto the field for Opening Day on March 27:
- C Austin Wells
- RF Aaron Judge
- CF Cody Bellinger
- 1B Paul Goldschmidt
- 2B Jazz Chisholm
- LF Jasson Dominguez
- SS Anthony Volpe
- DH Ben Rice
- 3B Oswaldo Cabrera
Carlos Rodón is your starter.
Expect there to be flexibility with the DH spot throughout the year with Giancarlo Stanton out indefinitely. We will see a combination of Judge, Bellinger, Goldschmidt, Rice and Trent Grisham there, in all likelihood.
Yankees 2025 Opening Day Starting Rotation
Gerrit Cole's elbow issues resurfacing ended up costing him the 2025 season as he underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this month. That was a dark moment for Yankees fans, but it's not the end of the world.
Luis Gil (shoulder) is out for the first half and Clarke Schmidt (back, shoulder) is likely out for the first month, but the Bombers have enough bodies to get by until then.
- Carlos Rodón (Opening Day)
- Max Fried
- Marcus Stroman
- Carlos Carrasco
- Will Warren
They recently signed Ryan Yarbrough to be a sort of a swingman in the event of another injury or if Aaron Boone wants to mess around with a six-man rotation here and there. Though Carrasco and Warren are being asked a lot to start the year in these roles, their spring performances suggest they'll be able to handle it.
Yankees 2025 Opening Day Bullpen
In the offseason, the Yankees swapped Clay Holmes for Devin Williams and moved Luke Weaver into a setup role to make the bullpen as stable as it can possible be on the back end. The rest of it isn't exactly "great", but if there's one thing the team has proved in recent years it's that they can make the most out of a bleak pitching situation.
- Devin Williams (Closer)
- Luke Weaver (Setup Man)
- Tim Hill
- Mark Leiter Jr.
- Fernando Cruz
- Yoendrys Gomez
- Brent Headrick
- Ryan Yarbrough
That's it. We're hours away from first pitch. Let's. Go. Yanks.
