The New York Yankees start an early-week series with the Minnesota Twins on Monday night.

Last week, rookie Jhony Brito ran into some serious trouble against the Twins at Yankee Stadium, getting shelled for seven earned runs in less than inning before he was pulled. However, he gets a chance to redeem himself on Monday against the same Twins team on the road.

Minnesota will counter with early Cy Young candidate and former Yankees starter Sonny Gray at home. Can the Twins continue to knock around the Yanks rookie?

Let's check out the odds:

Yankees vs. Twins prediction and pick

It was a humbling experience for Brito at home, but I do think that he can get back on track against the Twins, who are a below-average hitting team, batting just .230 as a unit this season. Sometimes pitchers blow up, and in his third big league start, it happened for Brito. However, the Twins don't impose that kind of fear at the plate, typically.

However, I think Gray will relish the opportunity to continue his sterling start to the season. He has made four starts this season and has allowed only two earned runs so far, and will face a Yankees team that is reliant on going deep this season.

New York is actually hitting worse than the Twins this season, batting only .227. They're below the big league average in wRC+, which is the quality of run scoring chances for each team. Gray hasn't allowed a homer this season and is notorious for generating soft contact, so I think this can be a low scoring output from the New York lineup.

Brito's recent start may scare off bettors, but this game is shaping up for an under.
