Arguably the most contentious series of the young MLB season has been going on in Toronto with the New York Yankees starting to find its stride against the Blue Jays.

Both teams have no love lost and it will be on display again on Wednesday after the Yankees took the first two of four against the Blue Jays. Now, both teams send out its best pitchers to get a win with the Yankees hoping Gerrit Cole can rebound after two poor starts while the Blue Jays counter with Chris Bassitt, fresh off his best start in a Toronto uniform.

Here are the odds for Wednesday night's marquee matchup in addition to our best bet:

Yankees vs. Blue Jays prediction and pick

Cole allowed four homers in his last two starts to the best lineup in baseball the Tampa Bay Rays. While the Blue Jays are also an elite hitting group, I fancy his chances of getting back on track. The right hander is still elite at generating soft contact, allowing less than seven hits per nine innings and is still pitching to a 2.22 ERA despite some home run troubles.

The real story is the Yankees offense over the last two weeks or so. Since Aaron Judge re-entered the lineup, the team is scorching at the plate, posting the best OPS in baseball (.858) over the last 15 games. Bassitt pitched a gem last Friday against the Braves, a complete game shutout, but he still has a 3.49 ERA that is supported by a Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) of 4.87, which means that he has been lucky once the ball is in play.

The Yankees are a team that can bring underlying regression like that to the surface, and I'll bank on that at cheap odds.
