The New York Yankees have been slumping lately, which has resulted in them going 4-6 in their last 10 games. They now sit 9.5 games back from the AL East lead.

Luckily for them, they're set to begin a three-game series against the lowly Oakland Athletics, who have fallen back down to earth since their hot streak. They're now 1-9 in their last 10 games.

Let's dive into the odds for Tuesday's series opener and then I'll give you my best bet.

Yankees vs. Athletics prediction and pick

Remember that hot streak the A's were on a few weeks ago? Yeah, forget about that. It was a fun story, but don't let that influence how you're going to bet on their games moving forward.

Oakland has reverted to being one of the worst teams in the league. In fact, over the last 14 days, they rank 29th in the majors and dead last in the American League in OPS at .574. They're also batting just .198 over that time span.

Not all is lost for the Yankees. Yes, they're in a funk, but that doesn't mean you should abandon ship. In fact, it actually sets up for a great opportunity to buy low on this club.

Jhony Brito may be finding his stride a bit, as he's coming off his strongest performance of the season, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings against the Seattle Mariners on June 21. He may have figured some things out in his stint back in the minors.

At -135, that's as good of a price as you're going to find when it comes to betting against the Athletics. Let's not let this opportunity go to waste.
