The New York Yankees experienced a full smorgasbord of emotions during their second straight loss against the Minnesota Twins. After giving up nine first-inning runs in the series opener, Anthony Volpe's first big league home run got them started off on the right foot.

Despite blasts from Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton to go along with Volpe's missile, the Yankees fell 4-3 due to some bullpen shenanigans and dropped to 8-6 on the season. This was a disheartening loss against a potential playoff foe like the Twins.

The Yankees don't have time to lick their wounds, as they need to immediately pivot and get back on track during two matinee showings against Minnesota. The Yankees have been getting some timely hits when needed, but they need to make sure their scattershot bullpen can lock wins down.

Will the Yankees follow through and smack the Twins back into submission in what promises to be a very tight Saturday duel, or will the Twims once again show Aaron Boone's squad that they are not a team to be trifled with in the early going this season?

Yankees Pitching Probables for Saturday, April 15 vs Twins

Domingo German will get the ball for the Yankees, though he has struggled mightily this season. With a 5.87 ERA in just under eight innings pitched, German looks more like the subpar guy we've seen in the last few years instead of the dynamic starter from his breakout 2019 season.

Minnesota will counter with Tyler Mahle, who was acquired from the Cincinnati Reds in a 2022 trade. Mahle has a 4.09 ERA in his first two starts this season, which is slightly below his career average. A solid innings eater, Mahle could mow down this lineup if they don't take him seriously.
