The New York Yankees are 3-0. The New York Yankees defeated the Houston Astros for the third straight night. The New York Yankees came from behind for the third straight time. The New York Yankees won their first series of the 2024 season.

It was another slow start for the Bombers, who logged just five hits and two walks across the first six innings. They scored one run, but it was on an error. By the seventh inning, the Astros led 3-1 and New York needed late-game magic yet again.

The opportunity came, and Juan Soto broke down the Astros for the third time in three games. This time, it came in the form of his first career Yankees homer.

Bryan Abreu was the victim. Soto's solo shot gave the Yankees the lead and representing the game-winning run in the 5-3 triumph. He went 2-for-5 on the night and scored two runs. This series, he's 6-for-11 with three RBI (two of them were go-ahead RBI).

Check out this opposite-field beauty. He just poked at it and it flew into the Crawford Boxes.

But that moment was made possible by Oswaldo Cabrera, who slugged a game-tying two-run homer earlier in the inning. With the news of DJ LeMahieu's foot injury worsening, Cabrera's torrid start to the season couldn't have come at a better time.

He's 8-for-13 with two homers and six RBI and has also flashed the leather at third base. He's done a complete 180 since 2023.

Marcus Stroman went six strong and didn't allow an earned run. Ian Hamilton notched two scoreless innings out of the bullpen and Clay Holmes shut the door. Anthony Volpe hit a homer and Austin Wells got on base three times.

Just wait until Aaron Judge gets hot. Easter Sunday series sweep? A 4-0 start to the season after a road trip to Houston would have our jaws on the floor.
