Every sitting United States president for each Yankees World Series title
If anybody ever tries to devalue any of the New York Yankees' 27 World Series titles because some of them occurred before the television was invented, you can fire right back at them with more important historical relevance. That help builds the "true fandom" reputation. Respect.
Though New York has been in a championship drought (and approaching a franchise-worst mark), it's nothing compared to what other downtrodden fanbases endure. Sports are tough. Mostly heartbreak. Yeah. Sad. Yankees fans have it pretty good.
So while we wait for the Yankees to capture No. 28 heading into an all-important 2024 with Juan Soto as the marquee acquisition, let's further educate ourselves on Presidents Day, which has been a federal holiday since 1968, when Lyndon B. Johnson signed it into law.
But its origins go beyond that. The first ever Presidents Day was celebrated in 1879 to honor George Washington ... and what a coincidence! That was the year of the Yankees' first title! Just kidding. The Providence Grays won the National League, which was established in 1876. More history. Boom.
The Yankees' success spans many, many administrations and their dominance across multiple decades saw them visit the same White House multiple times.

Think Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower and Clinton all got sick of the Yankees?
What a crime, though! The first World Series champions to visit the White House were the 1924 Washington Senators. That historic 1923 Yankees team didn't receive the recognition as the tradition hadn't yet been established. Don't worry, though, Silent Cal got to meet them when 1927 rolled around.
What's actually incredible is that the Yankees franchise has won a title under nine different presidents. Since 1923, there have been 17 presidents. They've met more than half! Even the rare one-term pres, Herbert Hoover!
Red Sox fans, you guys love history, right? We never hear the end of Boston's origins and importance in American history. Time to get reading on another subject.
