Blue Jays vs. Yankees prediction and odds for Saturday, April 22
The Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees are in the middle of a pivotal series in the AL East.
The second game of the three-game set is scheduled to go down on Saturday afternoon. Alex Manoah (6.98 ERA) will face-off against Gerrit Cole (0.95 ERA), who has been red hot to start the 2023 MLB season.
Let's dive into the betting odds for this matinee matchup.
Blue Jays vs. Yankees odds, run line, and total
Blue Jays vs. Yankees prediction and pick
It's tough to back Alek Manoah in any capacity on Saturday. He has given up at least three earned runs in three of his four starts this season, including giving up seven his last time out against the Tampa Bay Rays.
That's why I'm instead going to back the OVER on Saturday afternoon.
On one side, we have Manoah's less than stellar 6.98 ERA and on the other side we have Gerrit Cole, who has been fantastic this season, but has historically struggled against the Blue Jays.
Last season, Cole racked up a 5.00 ERA in three starts against the Jays, allowing 10 earned runs in 18 innings pitched.
Then, of course, there are the two offenses that could rack up runs no matter who is pitching.
The safe bet to make on Saturday is the OVER. Let's sit back and root for runs.
