Astros vs. Yankees prediction and odds for Sunday, August 6 (How to bet Carlos Rodón start)
Carlos Rodón has not been the pitcher that Yankees fans were hoping he was going to be when he joined their rotation in early July. Through his first five starts, he sports a 6.29 ERA and a 1.479 WHIP.
He'll make his sixth start of the season on Sunday as New York desperately looks for a win against the Astros.
Can we stomach a bet on the Yankees with Rodón on the mound? I don't think so. Instead, we should just look at the total for this American League showdown.

Astros vs. Yankees prediction and pick
There's a way we can bet against Carlos Rodón while not necessarily betting against the Yankees and that's by betting on the OVER, so that's exactly what I'm going to do.
I already wrote about how bad Rodón has been since joining the Yankees rotation, allowing at least four earned runs in three of his five starts. He's going to face Jose Urquidy of the Astros, who has had an extremely similar output for the Astros. He's going to be making his return after leaving the team with an injury on April 30.
But, don't expect him to pitch a gem. Through six starts with the Astros in the first month of the season, he gave up an ERA of 5.20.
The Yankees offense has left a lot to be desired, but I trust them to get to Urquidy and help contribute to the OVER.
Let's sit back and root for runs on Sunday afternoon.
