Jazz Chisholm Jr. isn't one to hide his feelings. The demonstrative second baseman plays the game with passion and isn't afraid to speak his mind. Coming off a career year in which he became just the third player in New York Yankees history to post a 30-30 season, it's understandable that he was frustrated after being left out of the Game 1 starting lineup.

Thankfully, Aaron Boone rectified his gaffe by re-inserting Chisholm Jr., along with Ben Rice, back into the lineup for Game 2 against the righty Brayan Bello. Rice crushed a two-run homer in the first to kick off the scoring.

Chisholm Jr. flashed some leather and probably kept a run of the board with his play in the seventh, before scoring the eventual winning run, coming home all the way from first base on an Austin Wells single. That trip took just 9.16 seconds to complete, and his performance on Wednesday showed off just how dynamic he can be in all facets of the game.

After such a display, you wouldn't blame him if he were still peeved at being left out of the lineup against Garrett Crochet. After all, he just showed how he can impact the game without his bat. But, after some time to reflect while mercy ruling some folks in MLB The Show, it seems as if Jazz cooled down, if he even was upset to begin with.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. clarifies that he never had a problem with Yankees manager Aaron Boone

Asked after the game whether or not he had a problem with manager Aaron Boone, Chisholm Jr. set the record straight. He simply reminded everyone of his passion and stated that while he and Boone have had disagreements, at the end of the day, they're on the same page.

"There was never a problem between me and Aaron Boone. He's been my manager all year and I've stood behind him all year. We always have disagreements - I mean, I played third base this year and we had a little bit of a disagreement in that - but at the end of the day, I always stand with Boonie because he understands where I come from," Chisholm expressed. "He knows I'm a passionate player and he knows I wear my feelings on my sleeve. He knows that I'm here to compete."

That's all very good news. Chisholm Jr., who is set to be a free agent after next season, had recently expressed his love for New York City and desire to remain here long term. Any real beef with the manager, who is under contract through the 2027 season, could change that tune.

Chisholm Jr isn't a perfect player, but he is an electric star who can impact the game in all of its dimensions. That's the kind of player that you want to have around, and it's the kind of player you want in your lineup every day. Jazz Chisholm Jr. isn't some role player; he's a star. And thankfully, he's not truly upset at Boone's failure to recognize that in Game 1.
