How to watch Yankees on TV in 2026 with and without cable: Full streaming guide

Lucky us, we only have to deal with the standard nonsense.

After much hemming and hawing ever since they were eliminated from the 2025 playoffs, the New York Yankees are about to embark on a brand new regular season. The 2026 campaign is a blank canvas with the opportunity for the Yankees to craft their own memorable story.

In fact, they will kick off the MLB regular season in a standalone game on Opening Night, March 25. It'll be the Yankees against the Giants in San Francisco on Netflix. Netflix! You hear that, grandpa?! "Is that what the damned Firething was I got for Christmas?!"

The Yankees will not be on cable for their first game of the new year, but don't worry, as long as you have a few extra hundred bucks a year to spare, we can make sure you are watching every Yankees game imaginable — just like you were a few years ago at a much cheaper price. Man, how the times have changed. Greed and monopolies.

Yes, sadly, even if you have cable, you will not have access to all 162 games. Let's go through all the options.

How to watch the Yankees on cable in 2026

This one's easy: the YES Network. It's only available in the New York market. The cable services that provide the team's exclusive television station are Xfinity, Spectrum, Optimum and Verizon Fios. Those providers also have ESPN, NBC and FOX, which will broadcast a number of nationally televised games.

The YES Network is also carried on FuboTV and DirecTV, which are cable streaming services. The difference? There's no cable box, and the quality of the stream is dependent on the speed of your internet (instead of that random wire that sticks out of your wall and somehow delivers better ... everything?). Why did we move away from the simpler things that worked efficiently?

How to stream the Yankees without cable in 2026

The Yankees will also be featured in games on Netflix, AppleTV, Peacock and Amazon, which will require additional purchases onto your cable bill. We know, you're clenching your fist, but save the frustration until after you've effectively digested all of this information. Before we get to out-of-market games on select streaming services (!!!), there's one last thing to consider if you don't have cable or a cable streaming service.

That would be downloading the Gotham Sports App and purchasing a subscription. A Yankees season pass costs $119.99, giving you access to every game televised on the YES Network. You can also use the app if you have a cable subscription in the New York market (so you can watch them if you're not near a television). Hey, it helps.

For folks out of the New York market, you can purchase an MLB.TV subscription, which is $149.99 for the year.

How to watch the Yankees' out-of-market games in 2026

Home stretch. You've made it. Although this is the most nauseating part, so try to maintain focus. There will be a total of 26 games that will only be viewable on completely different platforms. You can probably live without three of them, but you definitely can't live without one. Here's the breakdown:

Netflix has Opening Night on March 25 at 8:05 p.m. ET, Apply TV has one Friday Night Baseball matchup against the New York Mets, Peacock has the Bombers on three Sunday Night Baseball games (yup, no longer ESPN!), and Amazon has 13% of New York's schedule in 2026. Sick, sick world.

But that's the reality. If you want to take a stand, we suggest getting the Gotham Sports App and calling it a day. After all, we probably miss at least 20-25 games per year. You can probably earmark those for Apple TV, Peacock and Amazon ... or head to a local bar (even though that might be tough in some cases).

If you plan to not miss a single second of the action, well, buckle up, because your first subscription requirement will arrive on the very first day of the season.
